UCREW SPRING SCHOLARSHIP & INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

 Nine University of Texas students participated in the 2010 UCREW Scholarship program! The students The young woman were excited about the program and have been busy meeting numerous Commercial Real Estate Professionals, learning about our industry as well as putting new skills to use planning a mock development for a vacant parcel of land in West Campus. On March 4th, 2010 they will present their ideas and one student will be awarded a $2500 scholarship.
Several CREW members have come to speak and share their knowledge. All have been rewarded in having a chance to impact the lives of these your women as they figure out their own career paths.
As part of the program each student applied for an internship. So if your company is in need of a summer intern, or an intern now, please look no further than this years UCREW participants! We are in need of a few CREW companies to offer internship opportunities to our participants. A few of the areas we are seeking include:
• Real Estate Developers
• Real Estate Law
• Real Estate Brokers
• Commercial Appraisers
• Construction and Project Management
• Asset & Property Management
• Real Estate Finance
Most of the girls are majoring in a real estate related field, and this would give them a tremendous opportunity to be partnered with some of the best companies Austin has to offer.
UPDATE:
All of the students did an outstanding job on both the essay and the presentation and one student was awarded a $2,500 scholarship. CREW Austin is pleased to announce that Eva Agoulnik, a McCombs student in the Business Honors Program majoring in Corporate Finance and Russion Language & Culture with a minor in Accounting, was our first UCREW scholarship recipient.
Well deserving of Honorable Mention is Kelley Rytlewski, 1st runner up. Kelley is a part-time real estate agent and is a Finance Major at McCombs.
CREW Austin extends a special thank you to Angela Dorsey and Christina Griego with the Real Estate and Finance Center of the McCombs School of Business who have both been instrumental in making this program happen. We also want to thank our CREW members and speakers that volunteered their
expertise and time to this program.
